The Lights are Turning On

Poor Mina has had a tough month.  She had a week of croup and low-grade fever that transitioned seamlessly into a week of low grade fever and diarrhea.  But despite that she is still happy, smiling and burbling.

Staying home from school with a fever

Luckily neither illness was serious, but we realized that having only one car (especially if that car is stuck in Long Island traffic...) isn't going to be super useful in the event of an emergency.  So, say hello to our new-used Prius.

Mina likes to sit and play with her toys.  She is sitting unsupported these days (until she gets tired and launches herself onto her back) and seems interested in reaching forward like she wants to crawl.  Unfortunately, as soon as she lands on her tummy she forgets all that and starts doing breaststroke in the air.  Our pediatrician isn't too concerned that she doesn't consistently roll from front to back since she can already sit, so that's good.

So far Mina's been a good eater and has liked squash, avocados, carrots, bananas, applesauce and oatmeal cereal.  Green beans and cottage cheese were firmly rejected. Next up: pears and daal.

Her sleep is thankfully getting more consistent.  She was waking up several times a night (!) ever since her routine was thrown off by The Big Move, but she seems to be settling back into waking up 0-1 times a night now.
