18 months old

Mina has changed SO much in the past few weeks.  It seems like she does something new every day,   and we are so busy catching up that we haven't had a chance to write it all down.
At almost 18 months she is 20 pounds 4 ounces and 31 inches !! So, yes, officially the weight of other 10 month olds. Our pediatrician isn't too concerned since she eats pretty well -  yogurt and frozen fruit are still her favorite, especially mangoes and raspberries. Cheese and bread are way up on the list, but she's pretty good with meats and veggies (eggplant too, go figure).

She has a very impressive arsenal of words! From common ones like "light," "up," "down" etc. to things like "plane," "outside," "walk," "aooooooo!" (for wolf)" and "Madeline".  Madeline is her BFF at daycare. She is learning all the colors. She really likes yellow.

The pediatrician noticed today that Mina has a "short tongue frenulum", which is that little piece of tissue holding the tip of your tongue down.  If it is too short it can interfere with speech and nursing.      It actually makes a lot of sense since she was not a great nurser.  Hopefully nothing to worry about, but something to keep an eye on.

Favorite toys: cup and spoon, syringe, dolls ("babiss"), and pill bottle, in that order.  Here she has collected a sufficient amount of treasure to sit down and play quietly.

Favorite activity: writing!  Mina looooooves writing. She works like an art prodigy - she will pick up her piece of paper and place it on all kinds of surfaces, try different positions, and use different writing implements to get the effect just right.

Favorite pastime: Increasing the entropy of the universe
