Vacation in the Adirondacks

The Litwiller side of the family met at the Whiteface Mountain Chalet in Wilmington, NY.

The first of many grocery shopping trips

Hanging out inside

Mealtimes were relatively peaceful, thanks to "The Bee Movie"

Fighting over who gets to sit by Will's and watch him playing video games

Rowan: "Ha, ha, I can see it!", after being told that he couldn't see the game because he was too close.

Hanging out in the enormous yard, playing hide and seek, tag, rock throwing, and bonfires.

The house had a huge steam shower that Dan took advantage of, every chance he got.  The kids did not appreciate the hot steam, but did like the enormous bathroom.

Attempt to put all kids together.  It definitely did not work.

Visited the Lake Placid Winter Olympics Museum.  It had some interactive exhibits, with a luge and a bobsled that the kids could play in.

Hanging out on the seats of the rink where the "Miracle on Ice' occurred.  The Lake Placid location hosted the winter olympics in 1932 and in 1980.

Watching the "Miracle on Ice", when the US hockey team finally beat the Russians in 1980.

Wandered around the town of Lake Placid

Lunch at "Generations"

Watched the live action version of "The Lion King".  Rowan watched the whole thing pretty nonchalantly in Grandpa's lap.  Mina did NOT like the hyenas. "Go away hyenas. NO Scar!"

Afterwards, all the kiddies played Simba outside (they roared on this nice Pride Rock).

The Wild Center. This is a nature center;  the outdoor section featured an elevated walkway and the indoor section had aquatic animals, bugs, pelts and other kid-friendly exhibits.

The view of the river from the bottom.  Apparently people could kayak through.

High Falls Gorge, Wilmington: a waterfall with walkways to get around.

Kid's carnival. Lindsey put together a surprise party for the kids with fun games, bubbles and snacks.

Gondola ride up to the top of Whiteface Mountain. The mountain goes up higher, and the ski lift goes all the way to the top.  We only made it to "Little Whiteface", which was still had gorgeous views

Ladies' afternoon out to Lake Placid

Meanwhile at the house: Lego Movie

Hanging by the freezing river water

Mina and Isaac were very brave and swam all the way out to the raft

Playing on the beach playground

The drive home
