Getting COVID

On February 28th , Mina got sick and stayed home.  She had a high fever and lay unmoving on the couch - which is very unlike Mina.

The rest of us started showing symptoms the next day (Saturday) and essentially stayed on the couch until Tuesday.  We made our way through several hundred ours of television, ate soup and carrots. We were all highly fatigued, feverish, with productive and prolonged coughs.  The kids had some GI involvement as well, and ended up puking on our beds, their beds, the couch, and the air mattress that we had set up in the living room for easy TV viewing. Dan joked that we might have COVID, which I pooh-poohed and insisted was the flu.

We can't be sure this was COVID - after all, the first case officially diagnosed in CO was March 5th, so getting COVID before then is very scary in terms of how the virus was already spreading. But, the fact remains that 3 weeks later (perfect timing for the development of the IgG antibody), I donated blood to the lab for development of the assay and it turned out to be strongly positive. That's highly suspicious.

First signs of recuperation - migrating from the couch.
